Barbecue Seasoning

Who out there doesn’t love barbecue-flavored potato chips? Toss this seasoning blend with Homemade Potato Chips (page 98) or Perfect French Fries (page 86) to satisfy your craving at home.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon smoked sweet Spanish paprika
2 teaspoons ancho chile powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. Whisk together the paprika, ancho chile powder, cumin, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, brown sugar, and pepper in a small bowl. The seasoning will keep for up to 1 month in a tightly sealed jar in a cool, dark place.
