Ingredients

2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons malt powder (available at specialty foods shops), or malted milk powder
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened slightly
1/2 cup pitted dates, chopped
1/4 cup unsalted dry-roasted peanuts plus 2 teaspoons chopped fine

Preparation

  1. In a blender, blend the milk, the malt powder, the ice cream, the dates, and 1/4 cup of the peanuts until the mixture is combined well, pour the malted into two 12-ounce glasses, and sprinkle the chopped peanuts over the malteds.
