Orange-Vanilla “Creamsicle” Smoothie

I remember buying creamsicles from the ice cream truck as a child. The combination of the orange and vanilla flavors was wonderfully refreshing. Here’s a healthy, natural re-creation of those flavors in an invigorating beverage.

Recipe information

  • Yield

    1 to 2 servings

Ingredients

1 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt or soy yogurt
1/4 cup seltzer or sparkling water
Dash of vanilla extract, optional
Ice, optional

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Combine the first 4 ingredients in one or two tall glasses. Stir vigorously with a spoon until well blended. If you’d like a frothier version, combine the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smoothly blended and slightly frothy. Serve at once, over ice if desired.
