Steamed Brussels Sprouts with Sunflower Seeds

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Don’t ask me why, but I just love the way sunflower seeds enhance the flavor of this underappreciated vegetable. Trim the stem ends from about a pint of Brussels sprouts, cut them in half, and steam just until they are bright green and tender to your liking, about 3 to 5 minutes. Please don’t overcook them! Drain, toss with a little flaxseed or olive oil, and sprinkle with about 3 tablespoons of toasted sunflower seeds.
