Super Mashers with Shrimp and Chorizo Hash

Recipe information

  • Yield

    4 servings

Ingredients

Omit

Worcestershire sauce
Cheddar cheese

Swap

1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined, for the sirloin

Add

1/2 pound diced chorizo, available in the packaged meats case of the market (kielbasa or andouille can be substituted)
Juice of 1 additional lime

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Prepare the meal as in the master recipe, #143, adding the chorizo to the pan for 1 minute when you would add the steak. After the chorizo sears up for a minute or two, add the shrimp and cook for another 2 minutes, then move the sausage and shrimp to one side of the pan and continue the recipe with the peppers, chilies, and onions. Add the hot sauce, then use the juice of two limes rather than one.

    Step 2

Serve the mashers with the shrimp and chorizo mixture on top.

  2. Tidbit

    Step 3

Chorizo is spicy pork sausage with lots of garlic and paprika.
